The Anapests are a three piece rock band from the Texas hill country. Drawing influence from the bleakness of post-punk, the energy of grunge, and the belted lyrics of midwestern emo, the Anapests mix a collegiate aesthetic with introspective lyrics and high gain rock. They call it landfill rock since it incorporates so many disparate elements. Everything from the Police to Parquet Courts—Herodotus to Heidegger. This ramshackle trio of thrift-store beer-nerd dads formed in 2019 and recently finished a nine song album they plan to release on their own indie label, School’s Out! Records.
